QR Generator module for Titanium Appcelerator

QR code generator for iOS by Dan Tamas
We just launched an iOs only module that is able to create QR codes directly on the device without using an online service.

It can generate all types of codes (from 1 to 40) and with any level of correction (L, M, Q, H). You can also customize the size of the resulting QR code and it will try to adapt itself to this size to remain perfectly sharp and fully visible.

Kids-apps.mobi, a collection of educational iPhone & iPad apps for kids

We launched kids-apps.mobi, a website collecting educational iPad and iPhone/iPod touch applications for children.

It will focus on presenting less content and more video demonstrating the capabilities of each application in an attempt to convince parents about the quality of the application before purchasing it.

Rborn team is going accessible

We have created a new category in our development blog in order to write about our experience related to the accessibility elements that need to be included in websites.  The posts are based on our own experience and offer coder-to-coder tips and tricks, useful usable and accessible code that can be included in any website and other helpful (we hope) advice to understand and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0

For a start we wrote  Common sense accessibility 2.0, a set of tips and tricks of accessibility elements that must be included in any website. How we use them, how they should or should not be included.  As usual, anyone’s experience and ideas are most welcomed.

The second post is much more practical and it offers the HTML/PHP/CSS code to implement an accessible contact form. The code is available for download but the it can also be tested and studied on our development subdomain.

We intend to continue writing about this subject and add more posts to this category. Also your opinions, ideas and suggestions are  welcomed in our intent to bring the accessibility guidelines closer to the web developer.

Kroppr: image cropping script

Kroppr is an unobtrusive script that will enhance any site that wants to offer an image cropping tool for its visitors.

Unlike other scripts, Kroppr is able to ROTATE, zoom and move the image in the real time without using plugins – such as flash or java. The cropping is done after the user is satisfied with the settings. This way, the load put on the server is minimised and also the visitor’s experience.

The installation is also very simple – add a script tag in the header’s page and a class to the image that must be cropped.

More info on the Kroppr page.

Here is a nice demo:
